The brief

Who it’s for. What it needs to do.

Lower the bar for a first conversation.

Choosing a therapist comes down to fit, so Linden & Co. lets people in Ojai see who they’d be talking to. They get room to read, a calm page to read it on and an easy way to reach out when they’re ready.

This is a fictional business, and everything it says about itself was written for this sample.

Design decisions

A closer look at the choices behind the pages.

Put people within easy reach

Team is one of the main links in the navigation, because choosing a therapist is personal. The homepage is minimal with plenty of space, which slows the reading down, and the buttons have soft, rounded corners.

Show the environment without overwhelming it

The gallery shows the rooms where sessions happen, in an even grid with quiet type. Contact is a separate page with a clear label, so nobody has to start a form just to look around.

The visitor’s path

From the first question to the next step.

  1. Begin on the homepage ↗

Under a short line about therapy feeling like a long exhale, the homepage offers two buttons: schedule a session or meet the team.

  2. Meet the therapists ↗

Maeve Linden, Ari Okonkwo, Deja Park and Elena Hartmann are introduced one by one, under “The people you’ll work with.”

  3. Look around the setting ↗

On the About page, Maeve explains why she started the practice. With the gallery, it fills in the picture before anyone reaches out.

  4. Reach out ↗

The contact form keeps the first message short: a name, an email and a few words about what brings someone in.

Delivered work

What’s here, and what it demonstrates.

Every page at a slow pace

Five pages, each as quiet as the homepage, with the team never more than a click away.

Where a therapy site starts

The pace stays slow and the buttons stay few, so reading the site asks nothing of anyone.
