Animal Rescue & Adoption

Every animal deserves a home.

For over 15 years, Harborview Animal Rescue has found second chances for the dogs and cats of the South Puget Sound — through adoption, foster care, and a community that shows up for animals in between homes.

Three ways in

Adopt. Foster. Volunteer.

01

Adopt

Dogs, cats, gray muzzles, and special-needs sweethearts — every animal goes home vet-checked, vaccinated, fixed, and microchipped, matched to your family instead of the first open kennel.

02

Foster

Join 120+ active foster homes across the South Sound giving animals a couch to decompress on while they wait. We cover food, supplies, and vet care — you supply the living room.

03

Volunteer

Walk dogs along the waterfront, socialize shy cats, staff weekend adoption events. A few hours a month keeps every kennel clean and every tail wagging.

From our community

What adopters and foster families say.

Biscuit was eight years old and had been passed over for months. The night we brought him home he slept curled up right against my side of the bed like he'd always lived there. Senior dogs give back so much more than people expect.

We started as a foster family for a litter of kittens, sure we'd give them back. Six weeks later we were signing adoption papers for two of them. Fostering let us fall in love at our own pace.

Juniper hid under my couch for the first two weeks and wouldn't eat if I was in the room. The team at Harborview walked me through it step by step. Now she sleeps on my chest every night and headbutts me awake for breakfast.
